Building a San Diego Conscious Community That Actually Shows Up

Let's Talk About the North San Diego Spiritual Community

I do not think I am the only person who has noticed that everyone seems tired right now.

People are overwhelmed, lonely, burned out, anxious, depressed, or simply trying to make it through an increasingly strange world without completely shutting down. We are more connected online than ever, yet so many people feel like they have nowhere to go for a real conversation. We scroll past crisis after crisis, absorb more than our nervous systems were designed to carry, and then wonder why we feel disconnected from ourselves and each other.

I have felt it too. That is part of why creating a San Diego conscious community has been a dream of mine for such a long time.

I wanted a place where people could put their phones down, take a breath, move their bodies, talk about what actually matters, and remember that we are not meant to do all of this alone. A place for ritual and spiritual development, yes, but also friendship, laughter, music, food, movement, and a genuinely fun experience.

Because spirituality cannot be only about personal gain. It cannot be another self-improvement project focused on what we can manifest, attract, or heal for ourselves. Our spiritual practices should change how we show up for other people and the world around us.

So much of what the world is missing right now is community. Not another online space where we watch from the sidelines, but real people gathering, listening, learning, supporting one another, and deciding what kind of energy we want to contribute.

So, how do we begin?

We gather.

That is what I am building with The Liminal Flame.

Spirituality Cannot Stop at the Altar

I am a witch. I practice spiritual Yoga. I work with ritual, energy, the moon cycles, and all kinds of spiritual tools. Those practices have helped me heal, understand myself, and move through major seasons of change.

But I do not believe spirituality is only about our personal healing, manifestation lists, or what happens at an altar.

It also matters how we treat people. It matters whether our growth makes us more compassionate, more honest, and more willing to help. It matters whether we use what we learn to participate in the world around us or use spirituality as another way to avoid it.

The kind of conscious community I want to be part of can hold both. We can do moon rituals and talk about social responsibility. We can study intuition while practicing discernment. We can care about our own healing while also caring about people whose lives look completely different from ours.

Personal transformation and collective care belong in the same room.

A Spiritual Community for Different Backgrounds and Beliefs

Although The Liminal Flame has witchy roots, you do not have to identify as a witch to join us.

You may be a yogi, mystic, empath, meditator, energy worker, pagan, healer, spiritual seeker, or someone who is simply curious, in fact, I'd prefer this to be a community of people from all different backgrounds. You may already have a strong practice, or you may have no idea what you believe yet. I am much more interested in whether you are thoughtful, respectful, and open than whether we use all the same labels.

I want this community to include people from different cultures, traditions, identities, abilities, and spiritual backgrounds. The Liminal Flame is LGBTQ+ affirming, anti-racist, and rooted in respect. There is no room for hate here, and there is also no pressure to perform spirituality or pretend you have everything figured out.

The goal is not for everyone to become the same. The goal is to create enough trust that we can learn from one another while remaining grounded in our own sovereignty.

What We Will Explore Together

The Liminal Flame will host a mix of conscious events in North County San Diego, including gatherings that support the body, mind, Spirit, and community around us.

Depending on the event, we may explore:

  • Full moon rituals and moon circles

  • Yoga, meditation, breathwork, and embodied spiritual practice

  • Spiritual development workshops and intuitive exploration

  • Witchcraft, spellwork, manifestation, and ritual creation

  • Goddess gatherings, mythology, and sacred feminine practice

  • Tarot, oracle, Reiki, energy work, and sound healing

  • Seasonal rituals, solstices, equinoxes, and the Wheel of the Year

  • Honest conversations about healing, identity, purpose, and change

  • Community activism, service projects, and ways to support our neighbors

  • Music, dancing, shared food, celebration, and actual fun

Some nights may be quiet and reflective. Others may involve dancing around a fire or dressing up for a witchy party. I am not interested in creating a community that takes itself so seriously that everyone forgets to enjoy being there.

The work can be meaningful without every gathering feeling heavy.

Conversations That Change Something

I also want to create space for conversations that move beyond small talk and vague inspiration.

What are we healing, and what are we doing with that healing? Where have we given away our power? How can we show up more honestly in our relationships and communities? What does conscious action look like when we are already exhausted? How do we stay soft without becoming passive, and empowered without forgetting our responsibility to others?

We may not walk away with simple answers, but we can leave with a clearer sense of what matters and one practical way to live it.

That is what spiritual development means to me. It is not collecting enough knowledge to feel enlightened. It is becoming more aware of our patterns, more intentional with our choices, and more capable of creating change within ourselves and the world around us.

A Safe Space to Practice, Connect, and Have Fun

At a time when so many people feel isolated, gathering in person matters. Sitting in a circle, moving through Yoga together, sharing a meal, laughing, or hearing someone say, “I feel that too,” can shift something that another hour of scrolling cannot.

I want The Liminal Flame to feel like a safe and supportive space where people can exhale. That does not mean avoiding every challenging conversation or guaranteeing that no one will ever feel uncomfortable. Real growth sometimes asks us to question ourselves. It means we approach one another with care, communicate respectfully, honor boundaries, and take responsibility for the energy we bring into the room.

It also means you can come alone. You will not be the only one. My hope is that you leave knowing at least one more person than you did when you arrived.

Conscious Events in Vista and North County San Diego

Many of our gatherings will take place in Vista, California, with additional events throughout North County San Diego and the coastal communities. If you are coming from Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas, San Marcos, Escondido, elsewhere in San Diego County, or another part of Southern California, you are welcome.

There will also be online events and seasonal retreats for people who want to participate beyond the local gatherings.

The community is still new, and that is part of what makes this moment exciting. I have so many ideas, but I also want the people who join to influence what we create. The Liminal Flame should grow in response to the actual humans in it, not only the vision in my head.

Welcome to The Liminal Flame

The Liminal Flame is for people who want spirituality to feel alive, grounded, and connected to the way we live. It is for people who want to keep learning, care about the world around them, and would also really enjoy meeting some new friends around a bonfire.

This has been a dream of mine for a long time. I finally decided to stop waiting for someone else to create it.
