My Favorite Metaphysical Shops San Diego County

I’ve spent a lot of time in the metaphysical shops San Diego County has to offer.

Not just popping in once or twice, but actually lingering. Asking questions. Talking to the owners. Getting readings. Holding crystals. Sitting with what resonates and what doesn’t. And over time, you start to feel the difference between a metaphysical store that’s just selling overpriced things… and one that’s actually holding a safe space for the community.

These are some of my favorite shops. Not because they’re flashy, but because I’ve had real experiences in them. I’ve connected with the staff, with the owners, with the energy of the space itself. And honestly, I don’t feel like these places are overpriced for what you get — because what you’re getting isn’t just an object, it’s presence, guidance, and care.

Many metaphysical shops in San Diego often serve as community hubs, hosting workshops and guided meditations, making them more than just retail spaces.

Here are the ones I keep coming back to.

Mystic Soul Ritual Shop

Address: 212 Artist Alley E, Oceanside, CA 92054Website: https://www.mysticsoulritualshop.com/

Mystic Soul Ritual Shop is hands down my number one metaphysical shop in North San Diego County.

The first time I walked in, I could immediately tell this wasn’t a shop built around trends or aesthetics, although it's a super cute spot. It felt like a working spiritual space — the kind of place where real energy healing and energetic healing modalities are part of daily life. The energy is active but grounded, and the space feels regularly cleansed in a way you can feel in your body the second you pop in.

They carry handmade ritual tools, metaphysical supplies, a ton of herbs (with their metaphysical properties labeled on the package) and hand-selected tumbled stones and crystals sourced from around the world. You’ll find door openers, hex removal tools, ritual oils, and pieces meant for real spiritual work. They also have a few clothing and some really beautiful jewelry and accessories.

I don’t rush when I’m here. Mystic Soul feels less like a store and more like stepping into a portal: a place you go when you’re ready to shift something in your life, close a chapter, or intentionally create what’s next.

One of the things I love most is that they host the Mystic Soul Spiritual Faire every last Saturday of the month. It turns their location, Artist Alley into a gathering space — with a diverse selection of artists, healers, selling their wares and gifts. It feels like community, not commerce.

Kindred Journeys | Metaphysical Shop San DIego | The Season of Anya | www.theseasonofanya.com

Kindred Journeys (Oceanside)

Kindred Journeys

Kindred Journeys is a place where conversations matter.

The shop itself feels warm, open, and genuinely welcoming — not intimidating, not overly mystical, just grounded. It’s the kind of metaphysical store where you can browse without pressure and actually take your time. They carry a thoughtful selection of spiritual gifts, tarot decks, oracle cards, books, and metaphysical tools, making it an easy place to explore whether you’re new to spirituality or already deep on the path.

Beyond the retail side, Kindred Journeys is known for its healing services and educational offerings. They host readings, classes, workshops, and spiritual healing sessions that touch on astrology, human design, tarot, and intuitive development. The overall feel aligns with a modern mystery school approach — accessible, curious, and rooted in real-life application rather than performance.

This is a space that supports exploration and growth at your own pace.

And this is also where I had one of those moments that stayed with me long after I walked out the door.

Witchy Story Time: I had a tarot/psychic reading here with a reader back in 2022 named Just, and during the session he told me something very specific: that if I went back to New Orleans, my life would never be the same.

At the time, I didn’t fully understand what he meant. But when I went back to New Oreleans trip during a supermoon in 2024 with my ex-partner — ended up being deeply

transformative. Physically, mentally, spiritually, and even within my family, things shifted. It became a clear before-and-after moment in my spiritual journey.

That’s what Kindred Journeys represents to me now: not answers handed to you, but guidance that unfolds in its own time.

Tree of Life | Metaphysical Shop San DIego | The Season of Anya | www.theseasonofanya.com

Tree of Life (Ocean Beach)

Located at 4870 Santa Monica Ave., Suite 1A, San Diego, this shop is known for their local metaphysical community. Tree of Life feels like Ocean Beach distilled into a metaphysical store. This shop has that layered, lived-in energy that only comes from being rooted in place for a long time. It’s part bookstore, part metaphysical shop, part community hub as the owner hosts workshops out of her store in Ocean beach.

I love wandering here when i get the chance to venture south and browse books on tarot, astrology, witchcraft, and spirituality, looking at jewelry and ritual tools, and just letting curiosity lead. This shop also has a beautiful selection of herbs (and incense blends for blessing your home, for example) you can purchase and connect with in store as well as witchy gifts Tree of Life also hosts classes and moon gatherings, as well as educational workshops on topics like crystal healing and astrology, which adds to that sense of presence and community.

This is where inquisitive souls wander, browse, and reconnect with the wonder of the path.

Botanica Mama Roots (San Diego)

Botanica Mama Roots | Metaphysical Shop San DIego | The Season of Anya | www.theseasonofanya.com

Botánica Mama Roots feels grounded in everyday life and ritual, with an energy that’s practical, ancestral, and alive. This isn’t your typical trendy metaphysical store — it’s the kind of place that feels woven into tradition and lived practice, where spirituality is something you do, not just display.

At Mama Roots you’ll find herbs, candles, oils, books, tarot cards, incense, and a wide selection of spiritual tools meant for protection, healing, and ongoing support — the kinds of items often used in folk spiritual practices that extend beyond mainstream New Age terminology and into forms of devotional and protectively-oriented work.

The vibes here are different from a crystal boutique or metaphysical store. It feels like a place that embraces lineage — folk healing, protection work, devotional candles, and ancestral modalities that show up in botánica spaces historically. The word botánica itself refers to a store of herbs and spiritual items rooted in the blending of plant medicine, devotion, ancestral prayer, and ritual tools that have been used across multiple cultures for generations.

What stands out about this shop — beyond the range of goods — is that you can feel the intentional blend of everyday utility and spiritual support. Many of the items here are the ones people turn to for real-world protection, cleansing, and grounding rituals — not just interior styling or crystal collecting.

In other words, this isn’t metaphysics as aesthetic — it’s spirituality as practice — and that’s why it feels more focused toward folks who come with lived experience or a curiosity about deeper, everyday traditions.

Soulscape (Encinitas)

The space feels supernaturally serene as it's calm without being sleepy, grounded without being heavy. It’s one of those metaphysical stores where your luminous energy field settles the moment you step inside.

One thing Soulscape does exceptionally well is their collection of tarot decks and oracle cards. I’ve spent a lot of time browsing their tarot selection, and it always feels thoughtful rather than overwhelming. Whether you’re new to tarot or deepening an existing practice, it’s a great place to explore cards that actually resonate.

They also carry crystals, jewelry, books, incense, essential oils, and gifts — all curated in a way that feels supportive of real, everyday spirituality. This is a true safe space for people integrating spiritual practices into daily life, not escaping it.

Best Rock Shop & Crystal Store Experiences in San Diego County

For my crystal witches here are a couple of my recommended crystal shops in the area.

Beads, Crystals & More (Vista)

Beads, Crystals & More

Beads, Crystals & More is one of the most memorable rock shops I’ve ever been to with a beautiful selection of unique crystals ethically sourced. Many metaphysical shops, including this one, emphasize ethical sourcing of their crystals and gemstones, reflecting a commitment to sustainable practices and many years ago I chatted with the owner and his love of crystals truly is contagious.

What really stands out here is the owner’s genuine passion for gems. He travels and mines crystals all over the world — especially in South America and Africa — and you can feel that lived experience in the superior quality of the stones and large geodes.

There’s a large amethyst in the shop that you can actually lean into and float your head inside. The first time I did that, I finally understood how physically soothing crystals could be. It wasn’t theoretical. It was embodied — grounding, calming, and deeply present.

Between the diverse selection of crystals, gemstones, beads, and geodes, and the way the space feels held, this shop is a reminder that Earth-based healing can be felt, not just discussed.

Village Rock Shop (Carlsbad Village)

Village Rock Shop

Village Rock Shop is warm, approachable, and genuinely fun to explore.

They carry raw, polished, faceted, and tumbled stones, along with jewelry, books, candles, and spiritual gifts. The staff is helpful without being pushy, and it’s an easy place to ask questions or just browse.

Located in Carlsbad Village, it’s a great stop whether you’re exploring North County or heading down from La Jolla. They even offer a geode-breaking experience, which makes it feel playful and hands-on.

Support Your Local Witch (Why Shopping Local Matters)

There’s something different about buying your spiritual tools from a real person instead of a warehouse.

When you shop local, you’re supporting people who actually hold space — shop owners who cleanse their stores, know their tools, and are there to answer questions and offer guidance. These aren’t just stores; they’re community hubs where conversations happen and spirituality is practiced in real time.

Supporting your local witch means supporting care, craftsmanship, and connection. And honestly? The energy is always better when it’s personal.

Support Your Local Witch and Shop Local

When you shop local, you’re helping keep those dreams alive — you’re supporting the readers, the shopkeepers, the healers, the artists, and the spaces where conversations happen and community gathers.

Just to be clear: this post isn’t sponsored. I wasn’t paid to write this. These are places I genuinely love, return to, and feel grateful for.

If you’re exploring metaphysical shops in San Diego County, go where you feel welcome. Go where the energy feels clean. Go where people still care about connection. That’s where the real magic lives.
